This Privacy Policy describes the information collected through this web site (“Site”), including the Military/Veteran Resource Network portal (“Portal”), and how that information is used and shared. The Arizona Coalition for Military Families (“ACMF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a fiscally sponsored organization of the Technical Assistance Partnership of Arizona, and its suppliers may collect or receive the types of information described below in connection with your access to and use of the Site, including your account registration on the Portal (together, “Collected Information”).

By accessing or using the Site or by accepting our Terms of ServiceTerms of Use, or other agreement that incorporates this Privacy Policy, you (“you”) agree that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy and that you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of information as discussed below.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Site.

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and made a part of our Terms of Service. We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. All changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Site and, by accessing or using the Site after changes are posted, you agree to those changes. Material changes will be conspicuously posted on the Site.

Personally Identifiable Information. You can visit the Site without sharing personally identifiable information, but you will be required to provide personally identifiable information in order to use certain Site features, such as creating a Portal account and populating your Portal profile. We will collect any personally identifiable information from or about you that you choose to submit to us, which may include your name, email address, city, country, zip code, birthdate or age, and telephone number. Specifically, we collect your personally identifiable information in receiving and fulfilling information requests, setting up your Portal account and profile, and when you respond to communications from us (e.g., surveys and invitations to provide feedback). If you provide your wireless or other telephone number to us, you consent to receiving telephone calls and text (SMS) messages from us at that telephone number as described below.

Profile Information. We collect any information that you submit while creating your Portal profile, which may include the following types of information: your gender, information about your household, your employment status, your level of education, your relationship status, your language abilities, information about your military service, information about your health, your topics of interest, your injury and disability status, your employment information, information on your family and support systems, information about your financial situation, information about your living situation, and other related information that is relevant to the Portal’s ability to match you with Portal content. If you create a Portal profile for another person, please only provide us with that individual’s personal information if you have his/her permission to do so.

Portal Navigator Profile Information. If you are a Portal navigator, information submitted as part of your profile may also include: your applicable training and educational background, a narrative about yourself to be shared with Portal users, background information about yourself regarding why you want to be a Portal navigator, your availability, your preferred methods of contact, other information, and a photo of yourself. If you provide your telephone number, you consent to receiving telephone calls from ACMF and its designees at that number in connection with your role as a Portal navigator. You may also request ACMF to post your telephone number and email address on your Portal navigator profile so that other users of the Portal can contact you. Note that the Portal is publicly available and therefore any person who visits the Portal will have access to your telephone number and email address; ACMF has no control over how Portal visitors use your telephone number and email address and ACMF is not responsible for that use.

Mailing List Information. If you sign up or otherwise opt in to receive promotions from us, you will need to submit your email address. We will use this information to provide you with communications related to the Portal. You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in the applicable email. We may use a third party email provider to deliver these communications to you.

Feedback. We will collect any comments or feedback that you submit to us regarding the Portal or other aspects of Site. We may use and disclose to any third parties any comments and feedback that you send us in our discretion and without attribution or compensation to you, provided your feedback is not tied back to any personally identifiable information.

Email Portal Content to a Friend. If you choose to use the Portal’s feature that generates an email to a friend or other person that points to particular Portal content, you will need to provide us with that person’s email address. We will use that email address solely for purposes of sending that email.

IP Addresses and Related Data. The servers used to operate the Site may collect data pertaining to you and the equipment, software, and communication methods you use to access the Internet and the Site, including Internet protocol (“IP”) addresses assigned to your computer, your Internet service provider (ISP), your approximate geographic location, your browser type, the pages you access on the Site, the web sites you access before and after visiting the Site, the length of time you spend on the Site, date and time stamps, and clickstream data. ACMF may use this information to administer the Site and its servers, to generate statistical information, to monitor and analyze Site traffic and usage patterns, to monitor and prevent fraud, to investigate complaints and violations of our policies, and to improve the Site’s content and the products, services, materials, and other content that we describe or make available through the Site. We may combine this information with personally identifiable information, other Collected Information, and information obtained from third parties for security reasons.


Cookies. The Site may automatically use cookies to track Site use and to facilitate and enhance the user experience on the Site. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that are stored on your computer’s hard drive by your browser. The Site may use both cookies that we implement and cookies implemented by our suppliers and other third parties. We use cookies to track how you access and use the Site, to learn when and how users visit the Site, to learn how popular Site pages are and aren’t, to learn which search terms are used to find the Site, and to learn which web sites direct you to the Site. We also use cookies to help display certain information on the Site and to improve your enjoyment of the Site, for example, by remembering your contact and other information when you access or use the Site. Most browsers automatically accept cookies. You can disable this function, but disabling cookies may impact your use and enjoyment of the Site. Our Site suppliers use cookies and other tracking technologies to track Site visitors across the Internet to understand how you get to the Site. Due to this automatic collection of cookies, we do not honor “do not track” requests.

Google Analytics. The Site uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc., (including its Advertising Features, which are described here:, to collect information about your use of the Site, which information your web browser automatically sends to Google. This information includes the URLs of the web sites that you visit and your IP address. Google may also set cookies or read preexisting cookies. This information is stored on Google’s servers. Google uses this information to provide us with reports about Site traffic and your visits to the Site (for example, the domain from which you access the Internet, the web address of the web site from which you linked to the Site, and the date and time of your visit to the web sites that you view and click through). We will use this data to improve the Site’s structure and content. Social Media. The Site may allow you to connect and share information with various social media platforms, for example, Facebook and Twitter. These features may require us to implement cookies, plug-ins, and application protocol interfaces (APIs) provided by those social media platforms. We may share information that you provide us or that we may collect about your use of the Site with those platforms and that information will be subject to their privacy policies. The Site may also use the advertising services and networks offered by these social media platforms to deliver advertising content. Use of these services requires social media platforms to implement cookies or pixel tags to deliver ads to you while you are logged into the platform. If you do not wish a social media platform to collect information relating to you via the Site, we suggest that you: (i) hide social media platform plug-ins using an ad blocker; (ii) always log off completely from the social media platform before visiting other web sites and delete all related cookies; and, (iii) where the option is available, disable the advertising services and networks operated by a social media platform. Embedded Content. The Site incorporates content, including feeds scripts embedded in the Site’s code as well as visible content (for example, videos) provided by third parties. In some cases, those third parties collect data about how you interact with their content. How We Use and Share Collected Information

In addition to the uses described above, ACMF and its suppliers may use and share Collected Information as described below. We will not sell, rent, or share Collected Information except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy or as permitted by applicable law.

  • We use Collected Information to match you with Portal content.
  • We use Collected Information for the specific purpose for which it was collected.
  • We use Collected Information to communicate with you.
  • We use Collected Information to evaluate and improve the Site.
  • We use and share Collected Information in connection with legal proceedings or to protect our rights.
  • We share Collected Information with the suppliers that provide us with services in connection with the Site.
  • We aggregate Collected Information to create anonymous data on Site users and we share that anonymized Collected Information with partner organizations and stakeholders.
  • We will share Collected Information in connection with a change in control of ACMF.

Portal Content Matching. We will use information that you submit in the process of completing your Portal profile to match you with Portal content. For example, if you select this option, we will use your geographical location to match you with content that are available in that geographic area (e.g., resources, events, and volunteer opportunities).

Purpose Collected. We will use your personally identifiable information and other Collected Information for the purpose(s) for which you have provided it, including to provide you with information and communications that you request or that we believe are relevant or may be of interest to you, subject to applicable laws and the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you register for an account on the Site, we will use your information to communicate with you regarding your account. If you provide us with comments and feedback regarding the Site, we will use that information to evaluate and improve the Site and we will share that information with our partner organizations as described below. If you provide us with your telephone number when submitting feedback to ACMF, we may use that telephone number to contact you regarding that feedback. If you contact us for support or assistance in using the Site, we may use your information to determine whether or not your system meets the minimum requirements needed to access and use the Site and otherwise to contact you regarding your request.

Communication with You. We may use Collected Information to notify you of changes made to the Site, such as changes to our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, and, if you sign up or otherwise opt in to receive communications from us, to send you promotional materials and other communications as set forth above.

Site Evaluation and Improvement. We may use Collected Information: to analyze, develop, and improve the content, materials, and services that we make available through the Site and the Site’s functionality; to inform marketing and communication plans and strategies; to evaluate user needs and customize Site content, promotional emails, and your browsing experience; and for other legitimate and lawful business purposes.

Security and Protection of Rights. We may use Collected Information and share it with third parties to the extent permitted by applicable law, including in the event of a subpoena, court order, or law enforcement request. ACMF will use Collected Information and share it with third parties if we believe doing so is necessary to operate the Site or to protect our rights or the rights of others, including disclosing information necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action in the event of a violation of our contracts, terms, or policies.

Sharing Collected Information with Our Suppliers. We may share Collected Information with email service suppliers and other suppliers as necessary for us to provide the Site and our products and services to you and as may otherwise be permitted by applicable law. Our suppliers are authorized to and may use Collected Information as necessary for them to provide the applicable services to us and as may be required by applicable law.

Aggregate Data; Partner Organizations. We may aggregate personally identifiable information and other Collected Information, including your feedback on the Site, to create anonymous aggregate data on Site users, which describes users as a group but does not reveal the identity of individual users. We may use aggregate data to understand Site users’ needs, to determine Site user demographics and usage patterns, to determine what kinds of services we can provide, and to improve and enrich our services and the Site. We may also share this anonymized Collected Information with our partner organizations and stakeholders (e.g., resource providers, other organizations and projects operating in the military/veteran support space, and organizations funding ACMF) so that those partner organizations can analyze the services that they provide to military service members, veterans, and other individuals.

Business Transactions. All Collected Information is exclusively the property of ACMF but, if ACMF undergoes a change in control, acquisition, merger, reorganization, or asset sale, all information owned by or in the control of ACMF may be transferred or sold to the successor of the transaction. That successor will be bound by this Privacy Policy as it applies to that information.

Information Security

ACMF does not guarantee that loss, misuse, or alteration of Collected Information will not occur, but we have security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control, including Secure Socket Layers (SSL) technology, which is used to encrypt information passed between your browser and our systems. The storage and communication of information can never be completely secure, so we do not guarantee that communications or other information that you submit or that are otherwise provided to us will be completely secure. If you become aware of any breach of Site security or this Privacy Policy, please notify us at immediately. If our security system is breached, we will notify you of the breach if and to the extent required under applicable law.

Access by Children

The Site is not directed at children under 13 years of age. ACMF does not knowingly collect or use information from children under 13 through the Site.

Site Access From Outside the United States

If you are visiting the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that Collected Information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States (where our and our suppliers’ servers and databases are located and operated). The data protection and related laws and regulations of the United States might not be as comprehensive as those in the country from which you are accessing the Site.
