The goals of Career Navigation include:
Regardless of what phase you are in–whether you are preparing to exit the military, a military spouse that is navigating life after arriving in Arizona or an employer that is seeking to engage with the state’s greatest talent pool, the Career Navigation team is ready to assist. From resume coaching, interview preparation and career counseling to military/veteran culture training and understanding the transitioning veteran in the civilian workplace, there is a program component for you!
SkillBridge – SkillBridge is a Department of Defense authorized program that allows service members with command approval to complete internships at approved civilian companies within the last six months of their military service. Service members continue to receive military pay and benefits as if they were actively working within their unit. The Arizona Coalition for Military Families coordinates a statewide SkillBridge program under a Memorandum of Understanding between military installations, the Arizona Department of Veterans’ Services, the Arizona Department of Economic Security, and the Coalition. Under the MOU, the Coalition engages Arizona Veteran Supportive Employers to develop SkillBridge opportunities and provides support to candidates from inside and outside Arizona to match to SkillBridge opportunities and access supportive services.
