Hope Fest is an annual event in Tucson to help community members with essential needs, such as dental care, health care, haircuts, groceries, clothing and other services. For the first time this year, Hope Fest will have a separate section of the event designated to help veterans. The event will take place Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Kino Stadium (2500 E. Ajo Way) from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
This will be the 22nd Annual Hope Fest. Last year, 20,000 community members in need received more than $1.5 million dollars worth of goods and services, which are provided free of charge on a first come, first served basis.
Veterans, service members and their families have always been welcome to this annual event, however, this year they will have a portion of the event available only to them. There will also be veteran specific providers available this year. Hope Network, Inc. has partnered with Tucson Veterans Serving Veterans to assist and aid military men and women in need of goods and services.
“We are really looking forward to the event. It will help veterans in need and the community really works together to do that,” said Cliff Wade, Vice Chairman of Tucson Veterans Serving Veterans and a trained Military/Veteran Resource Navigator.
